Arthur Treacher (Founder)
The Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips restaurant chain first launched in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio with Wendy's founder Dave Thomas as one of the investors.
The Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips signature batter-dipped fish, shrimp, and chicken, along with their large french fries, have been available since the chain's founding in 1969.
The chain was named after the British actor Arthur Treacher, who was known for his roles as butlers and manservants in movies and on stage from the 1920s to the 1960s.
